Hyderabad: The state government will issue a notification on June 13 to provide Loan Eligibility Cards (LECs) to over 26 lakh tenant farmers in the state after Governor ESL Narasimhan passed the relevant Ordinance on Friday.

The beneficiaries will get bank loans, subsidy on seeds, fertilizers among other benefits on production of the cards.

The relevant file has already been cleared by Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy.

A road map has also been fixed to supply the cited cards from July 8 to 15.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will launch the issue of cards on July 8, to eligible tenant farmers either in Visakhapatnam or East or West Godavari districts.

Thereafter, the Ministers will follow providing the cards in their respective districts, according to the Minister who briefed media persons at the Secretariat on Friday.

Mr Raghuveera Reddy maintained that exploitation of the poor tenant farmers would come to a close as they were running from pillar to post for securing loans or subsidy etc.

All parties were consulted and their cooperation was sought for making the entire programme a success, the Revenue Minister emphasised.

Mr Raghuveera Reddy said that he would address all district officials, right from Collectors to Village Revenue Officers on June 16 and leave instructions on the road map for issue of the cards.

Later, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would also brief the district administration through a video conference and steps to be taken to provide the cards without hassles.

From June 18 to 20, Tahsildhars, Deputy Tahsildhars, Revenue Inspectors and Village Revenue Officers would be trained on eligibility criteria and disbursement of cards.

Applications from the farmers would be collected from June 21 to 25, and the Deputy Tahsildhars and Mandal Revenue Inspectors would conduct Grama Sabhas from June 26 to July 5 to educate the farmers on the subject and then finalise issue of cards.

In case of any objections raised by any sections, the officers concerned would clarify, Mr Raghuveera Reddy stated.(INN)
