Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party on Sunday questioned the Telangana Rashtra Samithi if fighting for a separate Telangana state is its birthright and no other party is eligible to demand a separate state.
Lashing out at the TRS for its decision to obstruct the TDP’s Telangana Ranabheri to be held in Tandur on June 10, Telugu Desam Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that the TRS was acting as if it was the only party which was eligible to fight for a separate state.
“How can the TRS decide to obstruct the Ranabheri when the TDP has already made its stand on the separate statehood demand clear,” questioned Mr Dayakar Rao before media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office.
He alleged that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao was targeting TDP intentionally to get political mileage on the issue and was leveling baseless charges.
Mr Dayakar Rao advised KCR to set his party right before leveling charges against others and asked him to change his style of functioning.
He further stated that the people of Telangana region do not believe KCR’s commitment towards the separate statehood issue. Mr Dayakar Rao added that the TDP would intensify the agitation with the blessings and participation of Telangana people.
MLA Kadium Srihari took serious objection to the decision to block Telangana Ranabheri by the TRS and said that if only all parties make united and collective efforts, while keeping their agenda and party flags aside, Telangana could be achieved.
He asked Telangana Congress leaders to show their commitment towards Telangana by stopping issuing of misleading statements.(INN)
