Hyderabad: Teachers from Telangana on Saturday strongly objected to the state government’s decision to fill up the vacant posts of Mandal Education Officers from candidates of all regions.
A delegation of the Progressive Recognised Teachers’ Union of Telangana raised the objection before media persons at the Secretariat.
Leader of the PRTU from Telangana Pothuri Sudhakar Reddy demanded that the government fill up the Mandal Education Officers vacancies by selecting candidates from Panchayati Raj (PR), teachers only as per the existing Act. “The government should be careful in filling up the posts,” Mr Sudhakar Reddy said.
He made it clear that the PRTU objected to the agreement made by non-PR unions which is against the existing Act.(INN)
