Hyderabad, Feb.9 (NSS): The Special Judge, Hyderabad has pronounced judgment in a case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (ACB) and convicted K J Behhar, the then project Director, SARPAD project, National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA), Hyderabad, to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.7,000.
The Judge also convicted P Madhusudhan Rao, the then Deputy project director, SARPAD project, NRSA, Hyderabad to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs.20,000.
The superintendent of Police, CBI, said in a press note here that the two officials had in 1995 entered into a Criminal conspiracy with some private persons for providing manpower and in that connection, the private persons claimed Bills without providing manpower and the two officials passed the Bills submitted by the four private persons, and shared the NRSA funds illegally without deployment of sufficient manpower in lakhs of Rupees.
