Gandhi statues damaged in two places in state

Hyderabad: Instances of damage to the statues of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by some unknown miscreants were reported at two places in the State on Sunday.

While the Nation is going to celebrate the Independence day tomorrow, the Gandhi statues at Jhansi Lingapur village of Medak District and in Ankampalem village near Rajahundry in East Godavari district were damaged by vandals, reports said.

People of the two areas are expressing anger over the incidents, particularly on the eve of the Independence day celebrations.

The police are investigating into the two incidents to trace out the culprits.
