Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has advised the youth not to get married before getting a job.
Addressing a public meeting at Madakasira on Saturday, the Chief Minister called upon the youth to make efforts to stand on their own legs and only then settle for family life. He said that after he had assumed office he had given orders for filling 1.2 lakh jobs and added that 60,000 posts were already filled. Stating that there was no room for recommendations, the Chief Minister said his government was giving importance only to merit. Stating that though he and his cabinet colleague N. Raghuveera Reddy had entered politics at the same time, Raghuveera became a minister earlier and he (Kiran) could not. The Chief Minister jokingly said that now he would never become a minister.
Some students had raised slogans in the Chief Minister’s meeting demanding scholarships. Kiran has directed the district Collector to take steps to release scholarships immediately. (NSS)
