Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party leader and former Kadapa Mayor Ravindranath Reddy on Tuesday advised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and his Cabinet colleagues to get ready to resign from their posts after the results of the by-elections are announced.
Talking to media persons here, Mr Ravindranath Reddy said that the Chief Minister and all the Cabinet Ministers who campaigned for the Congress candidates in the run-up to the by-polls should resign owing moral responsibility for the party’s ‘debacle’.
“It is a surety that the Congress candidates will lose in the by-elections. Every survey has indicated that the Congress will face an ignominious defeat. Poll surveys have predicted the YSR Congress Party victory in both Kadapa and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies,” said the former Mayor.
“The Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues, who participated in the by-elections campaign, should resign from their posts for their failure to ensure Congress candidates success,” he added.
Mr Ravindranath Reddy also agreed to take up the gauntlet thrown by Kadapa Lok Sabha candidate DL Ravindra Reddy and Kamalapuram MLA Veerasiva Reddy that YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy should transfer all his properties in their names if he gets below two lakh majority in the elections or they would do the same.
The former Mayor expressed confidence on the people of Kadapa and asked the two leaders to get ready to transfer their properties in Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s name, as he would get a majority of more than two lakh votes.
Mr Ravindranath Reddy said that the transferred properties will be donated to the Tirupati hundi as the Congress leaders had earned this money though corrupt means.
