Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Officers’ Association has urged the State Government to initiate action against the public representatives who insulted the GHMC commissioner Mr Sameer Sharma in the Municipal Council meeting held on Thursday. They warned that they would go on mass casual leave if the Government failed to assure them on this issue.
GHMC employees and officials have met the Municipal and Urban Development minister Mr Mahidhar Reddy and the Principal Secretary to government in the Secretariat. They explained to them that the public representatives behaved in a manner that lowered the morale of the employees, even though the Commissioner Mr Sharma tried to convince them saying that he was implementing what was there in the Law. They said that the Councilors were adamant and were not listening to the Commissioner though he said that they imposed penalty on irregular constructions according to the law.. (NSS)
