Govt declares April 19 as optional holiday

Hyderabad: The State government has declared April 19 as optional holiday on the occasion of ‘Hazrat Syed Mohd. Juvanpuri Mahdi Ma’ud (AS)’ instead of April 20.

According to a GO issued on Monday in this connection, the Markazi Anjuman-e-Mahdavia president had informed the government that the birth anniversary of ‘Hazrat Syed Mohd. Juvanpuri Mahdi Ma’ud (AS) falls on 14th Jamadiul-awwal as per Hijri calendar corresponding to April 19 and requested the government to declare optional holiday on April 19 instead of April 20 as announced earlier. The Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh State Wakf Board, also recommended to the government to declare April 19 instead of April 20 as optional holiday on the occasion of ‘Hazrat Syed Mohd. Juvanpuri Mahdi Ma’ud (AS)’, as per Hijri Calendar.

Accordingly, the government has issued a GO declaring April 19 as optional holiday on the occasion of ‘Hazrat Syed Mohd. Juvanpuri Mahdi Ma’ud (AS)’. (NSS)
