Hyderabad: The TDP has alleged that the Congress government was not in a position even to run the Assembly in a democratic manner.

Talking to the media here on Sunday, party leaders Mr Ashok Gajapati Raju, Mr Thummala Nageswara Rao and Mr Revanth Reddy said that the government had no respect for the democracy and called upon all democrats to condemn the attitude of the government.

They said that playing of the National Anthem, allowing members after the quorum bell changing the announced procedure for voting were all violations of the Constitution, they alleged.

Stating that the government had first announced secret voting for the elections of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, they questioned if the government was not aware of the 2006 Supreme Court ruling now.
