Hajj application forms issue starts

Hyderabad: The issuance of application forms for the Haj Season-2011 commenced on Wednesday with the Minister for Minorities Welfare, Mr Mohammed Ahmadullah releasing the first application form at the Haj House, here.

The last date for filing the filled in forms is April 30. The chairman of the State Haj Committee, Mr Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed said that the pilgrims must furnish a photo copy of a valid international pass port or an office receipt (applied for pass port) along with their Haj application form. In case they did not have a photo copy of international pass port, applicants have to enclose either a copy of address proof or a photo copy of cancelled bank cheque along with their application forms. He also said that Haj visas of pilgrims would be accepted only on their submission of International pass port.

Mr Khaleemuddin Ahmed said that a waiting list would also be drawn of all the remaining pilgrims, and they would be provided with the opportunity to have the Haj Yatra, if any pilgrim from their native district drops from his pilgrimage. He also said that last year about 7,600 pilgrims from the State went on Haj pilgrimage, while this year the number has stood at around 5,566. (NSS)
