Hyderabad: Indian Federation of Trade Unions (IFTU) has extended support to the ‘Sakala Janula Samme’ (general strike) call given by the Telangana Political JAC to achieve separate state.

Addressing a press conference here today, IFTU state President Mr S Venkateswara Rao and General Secretary Mr P Prasad regretted that the Central and State Governments have not changed their attitude in spite of the peoples’ agitation in different forms since a long time demanding separate Telangana state formation. They said that it was because of this, that the working class was compelled to join the general strike for which call was given by the TPJAC.

They said that the state committee of IFTU has decided to build up a movement along with the workers in unorganized sector also to achieve their goal of separate Telangana state. It was also decided to create awareness among the workers through pamphlets, gate meetings at all the industrial units and general body meetings.
