Hyderabad, Feb.18 (NSS): The TDP chief, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, has said that the incidents that occurred in the Assembly on Thursday were unfortunate.
Talking to the media here on Friday, Mr Naidu condemned the attack on the Lok Satta leader, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, and the Congress MLC, Mr Paladugu Venkata Rao. He also called upon other leaders to condemn the incident. Mr Naidu felt that it would have been better had the Deputy Speaker elicited the opinions of leaders of various leaders on the incidents.
Stating that he had written to the Speaker several times in the past about how to run the Assembly, Mr Naidu lamented that the House was not being run properly. He has appealed to the Deputy Speaker to act impartially in the discharge of his duties. Stating that there should not be one-sided decisions, he said that the Opposition was also as important as the ruling party. He said that it was not proper to take a decision without enquiring into the pros and cons of the incidents that took place in the House and on the Assembly premises.
Mr Naidu has felt that problems were arising only because of politicization of issues. He said that it was peculiar that while the TDP members raised the issue of reimbursement of fees, the ministers were giving their replies at the media point on the Assembly premises rather in the House.
Meanwhile, the Telangana TDP leader, Dr Nagam Janardhana Reddy, has demanded withdrawal of the suspension of his party MLAs. He has also demanded that the eighth chapter of the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee which was kept confidential should also be made public. (NSS)
