Hyderabad: Chief Information Commissioner Jannat Husain speaking to media on Saturday at Haka Bhavan. He stated that the Commission has recommended to the government to initiate disciplinary action against Additional Director Agriculture P Puttaiah, District Medical Officer, Khammam, Ramesh Gadgil, Hyderabad Public Cooperative Society Limited president Rajender Reddy, AP Seeds Certification Agency Director B Vishender Reddy for not providing information under the Right to Information Act.
Mr Janat Hussain said that the disciplinary action recommended against the officials is with a view to promote transparency in the working of the Information Commission.
He said the commission has recovered Rs 3.12 lakh fine from 53 persons for not providing sufficient information to the people.
He further stated that the Commission has disposed 4,711 complaints and issued 36 show cause notices and 274 warnings to PIOs. And the commission has decided to hold press meets on every third Saturday of every month to keep the public, press and RTI activists aware of the work being done in the Commission.
He said the commission has planned to organize a series of meetings to create awareness among people on RTC Act.
