Hyderabad: The TDP Chief Mr N Chandrababu Naidu has described the Centre agreeing to introduce the ‘Jan Lok Pal’ bill in the coming rainy session of Parliament as a people’s victory. He said that the people have achieved the ‘Jan Lok Pal’ bill by fighting for it. He demanded the Centre to take back the money illegally acquired by the scamsters and distribute it to the people.
The TDP has organised a ‘Padayatra’ from Mahatma Gandhi Statue, Secunderabad, to Dr BR Ambedkar Statue, Tank Bund, extending solidarity to social activist Anna Hazare for achieving ‘Jana Lok Pal’ bill. Mr Babu also administered oath to the TDP activists against corruption, at Ambedkar Statue.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr Naidu said that the youth was very much worried over the growing corruption in the country, and they were angry at it. He opined that the steps initiated by the Centre on ‘Jan Lok Pal’ were only the beginning and it will turn as a movement in future. He said that ‘corruption’ was the main reason for the poverty in the nation. He said that there was unrest among the youth on ‘corruption’, and intellectuals were pained at it.
He asserted that the government has to declare scamsters as anti-socials and has to impose social ban on them. He said that he has taken up the ‘Padayatra’ to bring awareness among the people against ‘corruption’. He opined that ‘corruption’ was more dangerous than ‘cancer’ and said that the time has come for the scamsters to change their ways. He demanded the government to get back the money from scamsters by ordering inquiry into them.
The TDP organised the ‘Padayatra’ above the party lines.Intellectuals, educationists and students in large number participated in the rally. (NSS)
