Hyderabad: Taking serious exception to the Governor proroguing the State Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, the main Opposition Telugu Desam party has alleged that there was a conspiracy to prevent its No Confidence Motion being taken up in the House.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, the senior TDP leader, Mr Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, said that the conspiracy to prorogue the Assembly was hatched by the Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Governor, Mr E S L Narasimhan and the YSR Congress party president, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, to put the No-trust move in cold storage.
The TDP Politburo member has reminded that the government’s action in proroguing the Assembly without admitting a No Confidence Motion against the government was historic. It never happened in the history of Assembly or Parliament till now, he said, adding that the government has achieved a dubious distinction. He also alleged that the Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, and the YSR Congress Party chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, had a match-fixing on the No Confidence Motion and ran away from the Assembly.
Alleging that the newly-elected Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, was speaking lies, Mr Yanamala advised the Speaker not to bring disrepute to the Constitutional post he occupied and demanded that he tender an unconditional apology to the people of the State. He also made it clear that they (TDP) would not budge till a debate was allowed in the House on their motion.
