Hyderabad: The Minister for BC Welfare, Mr Basavaraju Saraiah, on Friday appealed to Telangana students to write SI recruitment test peacefully as the controversial 14(f) clause of Presidential Order was deleted.
Speaking to the media in the Secretariat, Mr Saraiah said the deletion of 14(f) clause from 1975 Presidential Order was a gift of President, Ms K. Pratibha Patil to the people of Telangana on the eve of “Vara Laxmi Vratham” today. He opined that the Telangana people have achieved their first victory today.
Mr Saraiah thanked the President, the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for deletion of 14(f) clause for which the region’s people were fighting for decades. With the repeal of the clause, Hyderabad would not be a free zone with immediate effect, he added.
In a separate press release, the Minister for Civil Supplies, Mr D. Sridhar Babu, thanked the Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, for his sincere efforts for deletion of 14(f) clause. He felt that the initiative of the Chief Minister resulted in the deletion of the controversial clause. He reminded that the Chief Minister has assured deletion of 14(f) clause before SI recruitment and fulfilled it.
