Hyderabad, Feb.7 (NSS): The Congress party senior leader Mr JC Diwakar Reddy has said that they were feeling unhappy about the corruption allegations made against the late Dr YSR government. He said that the allegations were coming out now, and there were no such allegations during late Dr YSR’s regime.
Speaking to the media at CLP office premises here on Monday, Mr Diwakar Reddy said that he never faced any corruption charges though he was part of late Dr YSR government.
Ridiculing the talk that the Congress party had invited Mr Chiranjeevi under compelling circumstances and left with no alternative, the former minister said that the Congress was a big tree, many people may come to it and go. He said that the Congress party invited Mr Chiranjeevi not with the idea of check-mating Mr YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He made it clear that he has no objection if the TRS Chief Mr KCR joins hands with the Congress, by accepting the party’s ideals and its policies.
Expressing happiness over the merger of the PRP in the Congress party, he said that there was no need to believe Mr Chiranjeevi’s corruption allegations against the Congress party rule during 2004-09. He made it clear that he will not get a Cabinet berth even if the Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy expanded it, and added that he will not accept minister post even if it comes in his way.
Dubbing Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Polavaram Yatra as a good one, Mr Diwakar Reddy said that the Yatra will help educating the people on Polavaram project. He said that the PCC Chief Mr D Srinivas and party high command would look after the issue of taking action against the MLAs participating in Mr Jagan’s Yatra. He stated that the Assembly Budget session proceedings will go on in a smooth manner. (NSS)
