Hyderabad: The star couple, Dr Rajasekhar and Ms Jeevitha, have alleged that the former Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has floated the new political outfit only with an intention to become chief minister. They also alleged that he has been trying to exploit the sympathy wave generated on the unfortunate demise of his father late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, Dr Rajasekhar said that since the death of his father, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying his best to become chief minister by portraying the Congress party in a negative manner saying that the ruling party has totally failed to carry forward the policies of his late father. He also questioned as to why his paternal uncle, Mr Y S Vivekananda Reddy, was still continuing in the party if the Congress government has failed to carry forward pro-poor policies of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. “Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy does not like other leaders of the party getting fame among the people,” he said, adding that he was keeping him at arm’s length as he focused well when he undertook Jala Deeksha in Vijayawada. He also said that he never had any plans to join the political outfit formed by Mr Jagan.

Referring to the Praja Rajyam party president, Mr Chiranjeevi, the actor said that commenting about him at this juncture would be like beating an impoverished snake again and again as that party has virtually vanished. He also said that Mr Chiranjeevi has decided to merge his party as he was not capable enough to run a political outfit.

Stating that it was improper on the part of the Congress party to embrace Mr Chiranjeevi, who spoke against it since the beginning, Mr Rajasekhar lamented that the ruling party has never recognized his services. (NSS)
