Hyderabad: The TDP has complained to the Chief Electoral Officer that the YSR Congress leader and Kadapa Lok Sabha candidate, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has not shown all his properties in the affidavit he has filed while filing his nomination and he has also undervalued several properties with an intent of suppressing and misrepresenting facts about his assets and hide his ill-gotten wealth from public scrutiny thereby defeating the purpose of affidavit on assets as enunciated by the Supreme Court.
In a petition filed with the CEO, the party general secretary, Mr Chandrasekhar, has said that the value of shares owned by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy were either undervalued or not shown properly with a clear intention to mislead the public. He said there were also discrepancies in the election affidavits filed by him in 2009 and 2011 as well as discrepancies in the affidavits filed by his father and him.
Citing an example, he said that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy had said that he received a gift of Bhakarapuram land admeasuring 6.5 acres and 4.86 acres as gift from his father and his wife has received 19.45 acres as gift from his father-in-law. He pointed out that late Y S Rajasekhara Redy had shown only 6.65 acres of land in Bhakarapuram in his affidavit filed in 2004 elections and it could be deduced from this that the land not owned by YSR was gifted to his son.
Mr Chandrasekhar has requested the CEO to direct the Returning Officer of Kadapa Parliamentary Constituency to initiate action and prosecute Jagan Mohan Reddy for filing a false affidavit, misrepresentation and suppression of facts before the election authorities as per the Representation of People’s Act and the guidelines of Election Commission of India and as per the provisions of Indian Penal Code.
