Hyderabad: The former minister and senior Congress leader, Mr J. Chittaranjan Das, on Friday accused the Union Minister for Petroleum, Mr S. Jaipal Reddy, of obstructing separate Telangana State by continuing in the Union Cabinet while some 100 elected representatives had submitted resignations to their posts.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Das has appealed to the Telangana Congress leaders not to visit Mr Jaipal Reddy to discuss about separate State. He also dubbed Mr Jaipal Reddy as an anti-Telangana leader. Mr Das also urged the former Congress Working Committee member, Dr K. Keshava Rao, to talk to Seemandhra leaders about their grievances over Telangana State and convince them to agree for State bifurcation.
Appealing to the Centre to resolve the Telangana issue at the earliest, Mr Das said the Congress party would lose its ground in the Telangana region if the Centre failed to concede separate State. He also urged the Telangana ministers to hoist National Flags on Independence Day and resume their duties. He also urged the Telangana MPs to attend Parliament and raise Telangana issue.
The former minister has demanded that the TDP president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, declare his stand on Telangana issue and write a letter to the Union Home Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, in favour of Telangana State.
