Hyderabad: The Minister for Panchayat Raj, Mr K Jana Reddy, on Saturday strongly condemned the attack on MIM floor leader, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi.
Speaking to the media in the Secretariat after visiting Owaisi Hospital where Mr Akbaruddin was being treated, Mr Jana Reddy said that the government would take steps to bring the persons involved in the incident to book. Stating that some persons may create disturbances taking undue advantage of the situation, he said that the police forces were deployed in the city to prevent such a situation. Steps have also been taken to avoid any inconvenience to the common men and business establishments in the city. The government has taken all steps to maintain peace in the city. Stating that the condition of the MIM leader was stable, the Minister exuded confidence that Mr Akbaruddin would recover soon.
The Rajya Sabha member, Mr V Hanumantha Rao, termed the attack on Mr Akbaruddin as unfortunate and painful. The MIM leader’s efforts to utilize a disputed land for public purpose and protect it from encroachers led to the incident. He regretted that the personal and land disputes were leading to violent incidents in the city. The government should not keep land disputes in pending and clear them at the earliest, he urged.
