Hyderabad: The panchayati raj minister, Mr K. Jana Reddy, for the first time warned the Congress central leadership that if it doesn’t take any decision on the state bifurcation issue soon, the state will be facing an unprecedented law and order problem, including largescale violence in both the regions which will continue for many more years to come.

Speaking at the end of two-day fast undertaken by several Telangana Congress leaders including himself, Mr Jana Reddy said if Congress needs to be strengthened in both the regions it should announce Telangana immediately.

He also said the reputation of the Congress among the international community will grow if a new state is created soon.

The former minister, Mr R. Damodar Reddy, also warned the Congress leadership that if there is no decision on bifurcation before July 31, the T Congress leaders will lay siege to Hyderabad with one crore people from different parts of Telangana on August 9.

He also told three ministers who did not resign for Telangana, to do so in the next 48 hours, or face the wrath of people.

He added that Telangana people will not allow “Seemandhra people and public representatives to step into Gandhi Bhavan and Secretariat. A wall will be constructed on the highways bordering Seemandhra to stop people from other regions entering Telangana.”

He openly asked people to stone leaders who want to withdraw their resignations.

“We are going to bring pressure on the Speaker to accept the resignations. If anyone wants to withdraw their resignations he should be prepared to face the wrath of people and be pelted with stones,” Mr Damodar Reddy said. Deccan Chronicle
