Hyderabad: Condemning the Congress senior leader, Mr J C Diwakar Reddy, for ensuring defeat of the Congress candidate, Mr Patil Venugopal Reddy, from Anantapur Local Bodies openly, the Ministers and MLAs from Anantapur, have dubbed Mr Diwakar Reddy as a “poisonous insect” in the Congress party and “poison drop” in the Congress milk pot. They demanded that the party high command take action against Mr Diwakar Reddy and remove the poisonous insect from the party to save it.
Addressing the media at CLP office here on Wednesday along with the minister,Dr S Shailajanath, the MLAs Mr Sudhakar, Mr Madhusudhan Gupta and Mr Venkatram Reddy, the Revenue Minister Mr Raghuveera Reddy, said that it was not proper to Mr Diwakar Reddy, who has been benefiting from the party in all aspects from so many years, to make efforts to defeat the Congress official candidate.
He said that there was no chance for the defeat of the Congress candidate as the party had 28 excess votes to win easily. Mr Diwakar Reddy has given training to 43 members, 39 were from the Tadipatri Assembly constituency and others were from other constituency, to cast their vote to the TDP candidate by going to the booth raising slogans in favor of TDP, JC and TDP candidate Mr Mettu Govind Reddy. Mr JC also obstructed some voters from voting, he added. He said that Mr JC made all-out efforts to defeat the Congress candidate and ensure the TDP candidate’s victory. He asked as to why Mr JC made this and expecting what. He said that he did this because Mr JC didn’t get a berth in the Cabinet.
Recalling the 2009 elections in Anantapur district, Mr Raghuveera Reddy said that seven winners and six losers’ from Congress party lodged a complaint against Mr JC with the AICC president Ms Sonia Gandhi and the then Chief Minister Mr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for making efforts to defeat the party candidates.
Asking Mr JC as to why he put efforts to defeat the official candidate and DCC president Mr Patil Venugopal Reddy, who was working sincerely as a DCC president for the sake of the Congress party for all the years and also worked as MLA for three times, Mr Raghuveera Reddy said that Mr Venugopal Reddy had the history of ensuring the victory of party candidate though he was denied ticket by the party. The ministers and MLAs from the district appealed to Mr JC not to defeat Mr Patil Venugopal Reddy due the differences with them, he said. But Mr J C had openly said that there was no Congress candidate from the Anantapur district though the AICC president Ms Sonia Gandhi has given ticket to Mr Venugopal Reddy, he bemoaned.
He said that he never spoke against fellow Congressmen in his political career, but it was must-speak situation and hence he was speaking against Mr JC with pain. He alleged that Mr JC stood as a ‘black sheep’ in the Congress party and no more Congress protagonist.
Describing the TDP candidate’s win as technical, he said that the own party leaders defeated the Congress candidate and not he was lost.
Responding to a query, Mr Raghuveera Reddy said that he has no habit of working in an undemocratic manner like a factionalist. He also opined that the party will be weakened if the party failed to take action against Mr JC. (NSS)
