Hyderabad: The former minister and Telangana Congress senior leader, Mr T Jeevan Reddy, has asked the Seemandhra Congress leaders to open their eyes at least seeing the results of Kadapa bye-elections. He said that the Congress will suffer heavy loss in Telangana and Seemandhra regions if the Seemandhra leaders continue to obstruct creation of Telangana State.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Friday, Mr Jeevan Reddy said that the Congress party would lose its base in Telangana too if it failed to carve out Telangana separate State. “Already the Congress was affected in the Seemandhra region and it would also meet similar fate in the Telangana region too if the Seemandhra Congress leaders obstructed formation of Telangana State”, he said.
Faulting the Congress leaders for filing cases against late Dr YSR alleging irregularities, he asked those leaders as how could the Congress emerge as winner in the Kadapa bye-elections when the party leaders filed cases against Dr YSR on one side and declaring themselves as YSR political heirs on the other.
Responding to a question, Mr Jeevan Reddy said that the Telangana people want the leaders whoever worked towards achieving separate State. He said that the UPA government had announced its decision on December 9, 2009 in favor of Telangana and the Congress would be affected if the UPA failed to create a separate State as per its announcement.
Demanding that the ministers from Telangana region emulate Mr Jupally Krishna Rao, who was touring his native Mahbubnagar district by resigning from his minister post for separate Telangana, Mr Reddy said that it was not correct to criticize the TRS Chief, Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao, as the Congress leaders themselves declared that the Congress alone would give separate State.
