Hyderabad: Task Force police arrested seven persons, who were trying to manipulate the M.Tech examination answer papers in the JNTU here on Tuesday.
According to information, the answer sheets of the affiliated colleges of the JNTU were sent to the Examination Control Board in the Kukatpalli Housing Board for correction. Some employees were caught while trying to manipulate the answer sheets. The employees have colluded with students who have not fared well in the first semester examinations and the employees tried to take the papers out so that they could replace the answer sheets written by experts.
It is learnt that the students paid Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 for each paper. However, the information was leaked to the police by an employee of the JNTU and the police swung into action and arrested the culprits.
Police have taken up investigation whether there were any big heads involved in the scam. (NSS)
