Jogi Ramesh ridicules intellectuals’ talk on State bifurcation

Hyderabad: Dubbing the Seemandhra intellectuals as ‘Pagati Veshagallu’, the Seemandhra MLAs said the people would chase the so-called intellectuals, who participated in a discussion on pros and cons of bifurcation of the State with Telangana intellectuals, away from the Seemandhra region.

Speaking at the Assembly media point on Monday, Mr Jogi Ramesh said that the self-styled intellectuals were not fit to discuss the issue with the Telangana intellectuals. He also pointed out there were no public representatives from the Seemandhra region at the discussion. Alleging that real intellectuals would not indulge in loose talk, Mr Ramesh warned that the Seemandhra people would chase them if they did the same in future.

Asked whether the Transport Minister, Mr Botcha Sathyanarayana, and the MP, Mr G V Harsha Kumar, who were in favor of bifurcation of the State, too are ‘Pagati Veshagallu’, Mr Ramesh hoped that the duo would realize their folly and change their stand according to the Seemandhra people’s feelings.

Another MLA, Mr Malladi Vishnu, felt that the Seemandhra and Telangana intellectuals fell in the trap of the TRS, and urged the Telangana leaders to come to the Assembly by replacing the State’s name as ‘Telangana’.

Demanding that the TDP Chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, own responsibility for Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s behaviour in the House, Mr Vishnu said that both Mr Chandrababu Naidu and Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy have to sort out differences sitting in the party office and not in the House. (NSS)
