Hyderabad: Lamenting the incident of attack on TDP member by the Agriculture Minister, Mr Y S Vivekananda Reddy, in the Assembly on Monday, the Lok Satta Party MLA, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, has opined that the unpleasant incident might not have occurred had the government acted tough against the members, who attacked Opposition members earlier.

Speaking at the Assembly media point on Monday, Dr JP said that the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Leader of Opposition, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, and the Deputy Speaker, Mr N Manohar, have to strive to protect respect of the House.

Condemning the attack, Dr Narayan said that the political parties were trying to get upper hand in politics but not trying to concentrate on public problems. He also said that the House had already lost its respect in public eye and in the media. Therefore, the government has to think what to do by convening a joint session. (NSS)
