Hyderabad: Welcoming physical elimination of the most dreaded global terrorist Osama Bin Laden by the American Army, the Lok Satta Party president, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, on Monday felt that the death of Laden would not end terrorism in the world and there was a need to continue the war against terrorists.
Responding to the news about the death of Osama Bin Laden, Dr Narayan said that the worst terror-affected countries were Islamic countries and majority of the victims were muslims. Stating that India was also facing the problem of terrorism, he said that no religion supports terrorism in the country.
The Lok Satta leader felt that the malpractices of the candidates in the Kadapa and Pulivendula by-elections were best examples as how the politics has turned commercial. He has alleged that a candidate in the by-poll was spending from Rs 150 crores to Rs 200 crores.
“The people were being brainwashed that the elections were meant only for leaders”, he regretted. He also strongly condemned hurling of eggs and footwear on the campaigners of other parties by henchmen of a candidate. (NSS)
