Hyderabad, Feb.17 (NSS): Describing the obstruction of the Governor’s speech as violation of Constitution, the Lok Satta Party floor leader in the Assembly, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, has demanded that the Union government impose President’s Rule in the State by suspending the House immediately.

Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Thursday after the Governor’s speech, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan said that the present government has no strength to save the Constitution. He said that he felt like weeping while seeing the obstruction of the Governor’s speech in the Assembly and felt sad that he could not stop the obstruction of the Governor speech being in the House. He also said that the Assembly has become a haven for goons and scamsters who were trying to divide the society. He also demanded that the public representatives tender an apology to the people for allowing violent incidents in the House.

Enraged over Dr Jayaprakash Narayan’s “provocative comments”, the TRS MLAs, who were waiting for their turn to address the media, attacked him.

Talking to the media in the evening at his party office, Dr Narayan thanked the people who responded on the attack on him. Describing the attack on him as an attack on a system and an example of lowering democratic values, he made it clear that he would not lodge complaint against any one. He also described the attack as an attempt to muzzle the voice of a person who was trying to spell the truth.

Dr Narayan asserted that he was fighting to protect the rights of the Telangana people. He said that he was practically proved right in the case of Hyderabad Free Zone issue. He also made it clear that he was not at all against formation of separate Telangana and added that it was not a process to achieve separate State. He suggested to the Telangana protagonists to achieve Telangana in a peaceful manner. (NSS)
