JP Slams Govt For Failing To Run House

Hyderabad, Feb.22 (NSS): Expressing concern over the government’s failure to run the House, the Lok Satta Party MLA, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, has said that the ruling party members were not cooperating with the chair to run the House even though the Deputy Speaker was trying his best. Demanding that the government run the House properly as per Constitution, Dr Narayan alleged that the government was trying to escape from its bounden duty of running the House.

Speaking at the Assembly media point on Tuesday, Dr JP alleged that the government was violating the Constitution by not running the House. The government was not serious in running the House, he said, adding that already the Constitution was violated during the Governor’s address to the joint session of the House. Welcoming the Supreme Court’s direction to the State government on Fees Reimbursement issue, Dr JP demanded that the government follow the Court’s directive to protect the future of 25 lakh students. He also demanded that the State government to allocate Rs 2,500 crores for the welfare of the youth.

He said that the government has to train 10 lakh youths assuring them of employment every year to eradicate the unemployment problem in the State. He also demanded the State government to introduce the schemes which will be helpful to the youth and not to introduce the schemes which will pull votes.

Expressing happiness over the decision of UPA government to appoint JPC on 2G-Spectrum, Dr JP said that the winter session would have saved if the government appointed the JPC at that time. He opined that the State Assembly too following the footsteps of the Centre as it was not agreeing to appoint JPC in winter session. He said that the State government was not allowing a discussion on a burning topic like Telangana issue was adjourning the House again and again.

Expressing doubts over the government’s attitude in running the House, Dr JP said that the day of presentation of budget would be similar like the day of Governor’s speech. (NSS)
