Hyderabad: The senior TRS leader and Sircilla MLA, Mr K Taraka Rama Rao, on Friday slammed the Union minister for Petroleum, Mr S Jaipal Reddy, stating that he should realize his mistake of not submitting resignation after the remarks of the Seemandhra MP, Mr Kavuri Sambasiva Rao.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr KTR said because none of the legislators and MPs of Hyderabad district resigned from their posts, the people like Mr Kavuri Sambasiva Rao were talking ridiculously. Demanding that Mr Jaipal Reddy resign immediately, the TRS leader expressed his displeasure over Mr Kavuri’s false statements that the Centre had never promised to carve out Telangana State. He also lashed out at the Union Home Minister, Mr P Chidambaram, saying that he has proved his utter incompetence once again by making ridiculous statement in the Lok Sabha on Friday.
When the main Opposition party in the Lok Sabha, the BJP, has taken a stand on Telangana State, why was the Congress party delaying the issue further, he asked. Opining that all the Congress MPs of the region should give a clear warning to the ruling party that they would leave the Congress if it failed to concede Telangana demand, the TRS leader said the Centre would come down on bended knees.
The TRS leader expressed his gratitude to the BJP leader, Ms Sushma Swaraj, and the CPI leader, Mr Gurudas Gupta, for raising the Telangana issue in the Lok Sabha.
