Hyderabad: Rebel Congress MLA from Parakala Assembly constituency Konda Surekha on Monday demanded that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Mahabubnagar MP K Chandrasekhar Rao and Medak MP Vijayashanti express solidarity to the Legislators who have submitted their resignations from their elected posts by resigning themselves.
After submitting her resignation to Deputy Speaker Mallu Batti Vikramarka in his chambers, Ms Surekha told media persons at Assembly Media Point that she had requested that all the resignations submitted for the sake of separate Telangana should be accepted within 48 hours.
It may be mentioned here that Speaker Nadendla Manohar is in the United States of America to attend the Telugu Association of North America three day bi-annual conclave. It is the Speakers discretion whether to accept the resignations.
Meanwhile, Ms Surekha also demanded that Telangana Political Joint Action Committee convenor M Kodandaram to stop acting as KCR’s mouthpiece and demand that both the TRS MPs also submit their resignations.
She also called upon TPJAC chairman Kodandaram, Telangana People’s Front president Gaddar and Vimalakka to stand by those who submitted their resignations and make efforts for re-electing them in the next elections.
Turning her attention to the Congress Legislators, Ms Surekha asked them not to go in for talks with the party High Command in New Delhi at any time till it announces a decision on Telangana.
She warned the people of the region would teach a fitting lesson to those who backtrack on their resignations. Earlier, she paid rich floral tributes to Martyrs Memorial at Gunpark.(INN)
