The resignation of Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Prasada Rao, which has been pending with the Chief Minister for over 100 days for acceptance, is likely to be rejected at last.
It might be mentioned here that the CBI investigating the Jagan’s assets case has included Mr. Prasada Rao’s as the fifth accused in the FIR pertaining to Vanpic land allotment issue in the case. Following this he submitted his resignation on August 14 on moral grounds.
Ever since his resignation and Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy not acting on it, Prasada Rao has been not attending to official duties in the Secretariat. So far he had appeared before theSpecial CBI Court, dealing with the Jagan’s case, twice and was expected to even be present today. However, he sought exemption by filing a petition in the court through his counsel.
Prasada Rao called on the Chief Minister on Thursday in the wake of the scheduled cabinet meeting tomorrow after nearly three months. The Chief Minister is understood to have advised Prasada Rao to attend Friday’s cabinet meeting. It is reliably learnt that Kiran Kumar Reedy after weighing various options and the pros and cons in the wake if the changing political scenario has made up his mind at last to reject Prasada Rao’s resignation and an announcement is likely to be made in the cabinet meeting tomorrow.(NSS).
