KKR approves state innovation council

Hyderabad: The Chief Minister Sri N.Kiran kumar Reddy approved today the setting up of ‘State Innovation Council’ for evolvoing new process and structures to enhance the delivery of services and improve the performance of the Government.

It may be recalled that the Chief Minister had suggested this proposal in the Secretaries’ conference on 3 rd January 2011. It may also be mentioned here that the Government of India had already set up a 15-member National Innovation Council under the chairmanship of Sri Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure and innovations. The Council will prepare a road map for the Decade of Innovations 2010-2020.

The State Innovation council would be a small expert group with Government/Outside experts from relevant and crucial sectors. Centre for Good Governance would act as Nodal agency for this Council. (NSS)
