Hyderabad, Feb.15 (NSS): The Chief Minister Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy has opined that the Congress party has failed to convince the people on the schemes which were implemented by the party Government, and hence it got only 156 seats in the 2009 elections. He said that the people, particularly farmers, forgot that the ‘free electricity’ scheme belongs to the Congress party, because the party was not able to convince the people about the schemes introduced by the Congress government. It was necessary to the party to convince the people to strengthen the Congress party, he added.

According to sources, addressing the PCC appointed Flagship Programmes Monitoring Committees meeting here on Tuesday at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the aims and objectives of the schemes were good, but the problem was in implementation, and hence every one has to concentrate on rectifying the defects if there are any. He opined that the Cadre has to work to create a feeling that the government was implementing every scheme in a saturation level, and added that due this the Congress party cadre would expect more.. He reminded that late Dr YSR had thought that the schemes would cover 30 percent of the people belonging to other parties, and at least 10 percent of them might convert to vote to Congress party in future.
He stressed on the party leaders to discuss the implementation of the schemes, and bring the defects in implementation to the notice of the Government. He said that the party has to realize on this issue before any election.

Requesting the MLAs and MPs not to interfere in other’s constituency, the Chief Minister said that the Rachchabanda programme was organized to rectify the defects in implementation of the schemes and added that about two crore people were benefited with it.

He advise the district level leaders to counter effectively the criticism of other parties and said that there was a mechanism in other parties, of the State office sending a note to the district level leaders, who would counter the other party leaders effectively, following the note. He said that it was good if the Congress adopts the same practice.

Referring to the MLAs who were sailing with Mr YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister said that he has yet to got the clarity on who would stick to the party and who would leave it. He also said that one has to observe the system followed in West Bengal and added that every government scheme would be implemented by the party in West Bengal. (NSS)
