Hyderabad: The Telangana Political JAC has strongly condemned the incident in which a pregnant woman and three youths from Telangana were severely beaten up when they went to Trupatamma temple to offer prayers.

TPJAC convenor Kodandaram lashed out at the attackers, saying that they did not spare even women, especially a pregnant woman, and termed this act in most inhuman and cruel. He demanded stern action against the culprits.

The incident, which has sparked off an outrage, occurred when about 40 devotees had gone to the temple in a vehicle on which ‘Jai Telangana’ stickers were affixed. This is believed to have provoked the local people who attacked the devotees with knives and sticks. The incident left four persons injured.

Prof Kodandaram said that false propaganda launched by Seemandhra leaders is resulting in such incidents and claimed that the Telangana movement is only for seeking justice with the region and it is not against people of other regions.

“The agitation is against the Seemandhra leaders and investors who are against Telangana and the agitation is not against the common people,” Prof Kodandaram said.

The TPJAC convenor said that the leaders of Seemandhra should owe responsibility for this incident.

He added that the people of Telangana have been suppressed by the protagonists of Samaikhyandra and severe injustices have been committed against Telangana people, which led to start a movement against this attitude.

The separate statehood spearhead further said that this trend has not been changed even at a time when a movement against injustices has been launched. “Such incidents will only strengthen the movement,” he said.(INN)
