Hyderabad: Mr Krishna Babu, who has been appointed Commissioner for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, assumed office on Monday. The outgoing Commissioner, Mr Sameer Sharma, handed over the charge to him.
Speaking to mediapersons later, Mr Krishna Babu said that he would devote his attention in identifying the problems being faced by the citizens and would try to solve them on the basis of priority.
Stating that the metropolitan city would face the problem of overflowing ‘nalas’ during the rainy season, he said that he would discuss with the officials concerned about developmental programmes to overcome the impending crisis. He also said that he would formulate plans to contain water-borne diseases like malaria and dengue that occur during rainy season.
Later, Mr Krishna Babu and Mr Sameer Sharma called on the Mayor, Ms Banda Karthika Reddy.
