Hyderabad: The Krishna river water pipeline got burst at Gudi Malkapur here on Friday morning resulting in colossal wastage of water. The swirling water even entered the residential houses in Lakshmi Nagar Colony and the nearby temple leaving the residents in a quandary.
The vehicular traffic remained paralysed as the water was flowing like a big canal from Attapur to Ring Road. The students bound for examination centers, employees and motorists were stranded.
The residents of the area have complained that the pipeline was leaking since past three months and the Water Board authorities remained indifferent in spite of the problem being taken to their notice several times. They felt that the colossal wastage of precious water could have been averted had the officials taken up immediate steps to plug the water leak immediately. (NSS)
