Hyderabad: Four Labrador pups have recently joined in the Railway Protection Force(RPF), South Central Railway for specialized training in sniffer category to take up the vital task of detecting explosives, etc, keeping in view the security scenario. Six more Labrador pups will also be joining the RPF shortly.
According to a press release here, the RPF of the zone plans to keep sniffer dogs at all major and important Railway stations on South Central Railway, so as to utilize them in immediately reaching the site of any occurrence concerning use of explosives, thereby lending strength to prompt investigations and action in identifying the crime and nabbing the culprits.
The newly inducted Labrador pups will be trained at Podanur RPF Dog Training Centre, near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu for a period of nine months.
