Vijayawada: Even as the members of the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee stirred pots on the roads of Hyderabad on Sunday as part of the Vanta Varpu, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal added fuel to the fire and more spice to the Telangana cauldron by saying that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi was minting crores of rupees by misleading students and the people of the region.

Talking to media persons here, Mr Rajagopal, who was instrumental in bringing together the integrated Andhra Pradesh protagonists in the aftermath of the famous statement by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, said that while he may be an ‘investor’ in the words of TRS leader K Taraka Rama Rao, the TRS was the one walking away with the profits of the separate Telangana sentiment.

“I am not a ‘looter’ like you,” the Vijayawada MP said in a terse rejoinder to KTR’s statement. “The TRS has minted crores of rupees in the name of Telangana agitation and spoilt the careers of lakhs of students,” he added.

“Investor? I had provided employment to thousands of people in Telangana by investing my money. That is not cheating anyone,” Mr Rajagopal said.

“What is KTR doing for the people of Telangana? The KCR family has misused the Telangana agitation for its personal gains. They are the only ones who benefitted from the agitation,” the MP added.

Thousands of students are studying in Seemandhra region, afraid that their studies would suffer on account of agitations in Telangana, he added.
“Any division will not forebode well for the state as per Vastu Sastra. Vastu sastra says that alienating the north will lead to a lot of damage to the state,” Mr Rajagopal stated.

The MP also challenged KCR to set a deadline for Telangana.

“You tell me how much time you want to achieve Telangana. I will leave the country till then and come back after the deadline expires. You will not be successful to meet your own deadline,” Mr Rajagopal challenged
The maverick politician-cum-businessman added that he was ready to face any challenge and contest elections in Telangana region, if the Congress High Command gives him the nod.

Reacting to criticism against him by MP Ponnam Prabhakhar, Mr Rajagopal said that the Karimnagar MP has no moral right to criticise him as he had misused his official position and got employment for his brother.(INN)
