Lagadapati Rajagopal remarks unfortunate: Congress

Hyderabad: The Congress leaders have taken a serious objection to the Vijayawada MP, Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal’s remarks communal clashes would erupt in Hyderabad if separate Telangana State was formed. They said that Mr Lagadapati’s comments were very unfortunate while the citizens of various religions were living in harmony in the State capital. They also appealed to the Vijayawada MP not to make provocative comments on Telangana.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, the senior Congress leader and MP, Mr V. Hanumantha Rao, said that Mr Rajagopal was causing irreparable loss to the party by making disrespectful remarks on Telangana formation. He said that no one should take party’s lenience as weakness.

The Minister for Labour, Mr Danam Nagender, who faulted the ‘Vanta-Varpu’ programme, quipped that the Telangana Political JAC chairman, Prof. Kodandaram, may be wishing that the people of Telangana live on footpaths.
