Law will take its own course, Botcha on Jagan case

Hyderabad: The Pradesh Congress Committee president, Mr Botcha Satyanarayana, has said the law will take its own course of action and as part of it, the CBI will inquire comprehensively into the assets of the YSR Congress Party Chief, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Mr Botcha reiterated that then ministers in late Dr YSR Cabinet had no role of any sort in the dealings occurred behind the screen. He also said that one has to own responsibility if she or he played a role in the shady transactions. He asserted that any cabinet owns total responsibility only when the decisions were taken by it collectively, but it would not do so on other issues. Recalling that he was minister for Industries for some time only during late YSR regime, Mr Satyanarayana said the APIIC (Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructural Corporation had violated all directions during that time. However, he made it clear that Dr YSR was always his beloved leader.

The PCC chief observed that Mr Jagan’s party was damaging the image of Dr YSR, but not the Congress party. He said that Mr Jagan has to prove his sincerity by cooperating with the CBI investigators without knocking the doors of the Supreme Court. He has advised Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy not to criticize the Congress party for his own mistakes. He also doubted that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy might have left the Congress party because he committed mistakes.

Mr Botcha exhorted the cadre to strive to strengthen the Congress party by educating the masses about the government’s welfare schemes. He had a meeting with the PRP leaders on the second day too and discussed about the formalities of the merger.
