Hyderabad: The Left parties have reiterated their demand to appoint Joint Legislature Committee (JLC) probe into the alleged irregularities of the previous government in allotting prime lands to the companies.

Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Thursday, the CPI floor leader, Mr G Mallesh, said that the Deputy Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, has not allowed the adjournment motion on land issue moved by the Left parties. He asked the State government as to why it was scared of appointing the JLC when it was sincere. He demanded that the government appoint JLC to know the identity of the culprits. Mr Mallesh said that the CPI would not keep quiet when the government lands are occupied by private persons illegally.

The CPM MLA, Mr J Ranga Reddy, alleged that some persons have been enjoying authority illegally on government lands using their influence in the government. Demanding that the government take back the lands, Mr Ranga Reddy said the government has to allow the issue in the House to discuss it thoroughly. He asked the government as to why it was scared to appoint a House Committee in the land allotment if it was sincere. He warned the government that they would fight against it if it failed to take back the lands allotted illegally to the private persons. (NSS)
