Hyderabad: With the TDP president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, hoisting the party flag and paying tributes to party founder late N.T. Rama Rao, the three-day annual general body meeting of TDP called ‘Mahanadu’ began on Friday at ‘Telugu Vijayam’ at Gandipet.
The venue of Mahanadu turned yellow with TDP flags and yellow clad party leaders and activists thronging the area. Some 15,000 delegates from all the 23 districts are attending the annual event in which the party will take up discussion on 14 major issues like farmers’ problems, price rise, anti-people policies of the Congress governments in the State and at the Centre, corruption and pass resolutions. In addition to them, the party meeting would also adopt political resolutions. The TDP supremo may also make an effort to spell out his stand on Telangana Statehood issue, which created crisis in all the political parties in the State including the TDP.
At the venue of the meeting, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated a blood donation camp and a photo-exhibition depicting the 29-year-old journey of TDP. It is a test of times for the TDP supremo and former chief minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu as he was unable to regain confidence of the people on one hand and steer the party out of the crisis on the other.
Elaborate arrangements were made at Gandipet for Mahanadu. The police also made adequate security arrangements at the meeting. (NSS)
