Hyderabad: The former chairman of Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes Co-operative Finance Corporation Limited and MRPS founder-president, Mr R. D. Wilson, has hailed the appointment of the Transport Minister, Mr Botcha Satyanarayana, as the new Pradesh Congress Committee president.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, Mr Wilson said that the appointment of Mr Satyanarayana as new PCC chief proved beyond doubt that adequate representation to the Dalits and weaker sections could be possible only by the Congress party. He also urged Mr Botcha to strive for categorization of Scheduled Castes as announced in the party manifesto. Appealing to the new PCC chief to give top priority to Classification of SCs, Mr Wilson said that the entire Madiga community will be solidly behind the Congress party if they got social justice by SC categorization.
Mr Wilson also urged the PCC Chief, Mr Sathyanarayana to strive to implement Dalit Industrial Policy, which was launched by former chief minister late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He also wanted the State government to implement G.O No. 105 regarding special incentives to Dalit entrepreneurs. He urged the government to release Rs 300 crores to the Credit Guarantee Trust and protect SC, ST units through Nodal Agency.
He appealed to the Party High Command to go to next general elections in 2014 by proclaiming that a Dalit leader will be the next chief minister.
