Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Banda Karthika Chandra Reddy has directed the Zonal Commissioners to concentrate on Emergency Control Rooms complaints and to keep their emergency team alert during the monsoon season.
In a review meeting held with Zonal Commissioners on arrangements of Bonalu Festival and monsoon preparedness, the Mayor stressed to conduct special drive on debris removal, before festival and ensure no debris is left over near manholes.
Further instructed to lift the debris near Kalpana function hall in co-ordination with
both North and Central Zonal Commissioners, Karthika Reddy also said to identify one location
in each circle for dumping debris within a week so that it can be lifted easily by
the GHMC and the vehicles should be under the control of respective AMOHs.
She said that 100 acres of land was identified in Dundigal for shifting of debris from the city.
She asked the zonal commissioners to provide radium glowsigns at danger zones within a week, provide permanent gates at nalas while taking up de-silting works here after wards, to speed the slab works under dust bins, provide extra units for sanitation near temples and lift garbage 4 times a day during festivals and provide mobile toilets, to purchase Tricycles at Zonal Commissioner level by fixing unit rate, to lift the debris near Kalpana function hall in co-ordination with both North and Central Zonal Commissioners, in view of monsoon, to check the structural stability of the hoardings.
She directed them to consult local Corporators to identify places for construction of Mahila Bhavans and construct the building in the prescribed model within 3 months.
Earlier, Additional Commissioner (H&S) and Zonal Commissioners of 5 zones apprised the Mayor about the activities being initiated in their respective zones for Bonalu Festival works worth Rs 5.24 Crores.
To improve sanitation in the city, additional dustbin and tricycles has to procured they added. The officials informed that all the cable managements formed into a consortium and appointed a contractor to remove the unused cables of different agencies which were lying idle, by month end.
They also informed Mayor about upgrading the Citizens Service Centres to improve the quality of service and accountability.(INN)
