Hyderabad: Taking a cue from Seemandhra leaders, who had distributed handbills titled “Why Telangana should not be conceded” in Parliament recently, a Telangana Congress legislator distributed handbills in the Assembly on Monday on the inevitability of formation of separate Telangana State.
The Congress MLA from Medchal in Ranga Reddy district, Mr Kitchennagari Lakshma Reddy, distributed handbills in favour of separate Telangana to the Seemandhra legislators in the Assembly. The handbill was issue in the name of the Congress legislators of the region. In the handbill, Mr Lakshma Reddy pleaded with the Seemandhra leaders to agree for bifurcation so that the people of the two regions could separate like brothers and remain united with mutual affection and love.
Mr Lakshma Reddy also suggested to the Seemandhra leaders to have discussions on the capital city of Hyderabad which was the bone of contention. In the handbill, he offered two options —- first one Greater Hyderabad or Revenue Hyderabad and the second option Hyderabad as temporary Union Territory or joint capital of both Telangana and Seemandhra States.
The Medchal MLA further pointed out that the people of both the regions would be separating physically on account of bifurcation, but no division of souls and affection would take place. He also pointed out that the people of the entire State were wholeheartedly welcoming division of administration. “Let’us all sit across the table like brothers and discuss about Hyderabad”, he added.
