Hyderabad: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Thursday said the state government will thwart all the attempts to stall the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
“I will not compromise on the city’s development. The Metro Rail is a crucial project and it will ease vehicular traffic congestion in the city. If needed, the government will take stringent action to crush the opposition against the Metro Rail project. I will ensure that Metro Rail project will run on elevated tracks in Hyderabad,” he said during his whirlwind tour of the city on Thursday.
The CM’s city tour, however, was marred by protests and mid-way boycotts by some mediapersons following the high-handed behaviour of the cops at Dhoolpet.
The Chief Minister assured them that the incident will be inquired into.
When this did not pacify the mediapersons, he told them that he was in the midst of addressing party workers and that media personnel who don’t want to cover the meet may leave the venue.
This led to some of scribes boycotting the Chief Minister’s tour. Deccan Chronicle
