Hyderabad: The talks held between the fasting CPI-M State Secretary Mr B V Raghavulu and two Ministers Dr Shankar Rao and Mr Manikya Vara Prasad here on Monday have failed.

The two Ministers called on Mr Raghavulu, who was admitted to Gandhi Hospital and where he is continuing the fast, this evening. The Ministers requested the CPIM leader to give up the fast, so that they could have discussions on the issues. Dr shankar Rao has assured that 90 per cent of the demands were being implemented by the Government and loopholes in their implementation would be set right.

Mr Raghavulu, however, rejected their request and decided to continue the fast till the Government came down on his demands. Mr Raghavulu’s fast entered the fifth day today.

Earlier in the day, TDP leaders Mr Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Mr Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu called on Mr Raghavulu at the Hospital and enquired about his health condition. (NSS)
